YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY WEDDING DAY GUIDE
Oh my gosh!!!! If you're here that means your wedding is almost here! We can't wait to celebrate with you and capture all of the amazing moments of your day! We've put together a little guide to help visualize how your wedding day is going to go (when it comes to photography). Because I'm writing this as a page on our website, I will keep it very generic (meaning it may vary some from what you have planned for your day), but hopefully will still help!
DETAILS
When we first arrive we will come find you and introduce ourselves to your friends and family! This is when we will unpack and get our gear ready for the day! We likde to get the detail shots out of the way ASAP so you can have the items back to get dressed, etc. Please make sure to have any special details items set aside together. Keeping them together in a box or something similar helps this process go smoothly! This includes items such as your dress and veil, jewelry, rings from both of you, a copy of your invitations, heirloom items, perfume/cologne, shoes, and anything else you want in your flat-lay images.
Getting READY
Once we finish with the flay lay details, we will come to you to photograph candid moments of everyone getting ready! Between the two of us, we will be busy capturing all the fun little moments of anticipation for the big moments coming soon!
Since we do not have a curated photography style, we tend to to capture this as it's happening, we recommend to be mindful of your surroundings (pick up trash, etc.), have fun, and be silly as if we weren't there!
Time to Get Dressed
Time to put on what you are wearing for the day! If you are wearing a wedding dress, will let you slip into your dress and get mostly zipped or buttoned before taking photos. Be sure to have the person(s) helping you nearby for this moment (same with boutonnieres)!
First Look
If you are doing a first look (either with your partner or with someone else (parents, etc.) it's now the time to do your reveal!! We will have scoped our a spot based on the lighting and set this up for you. After the first few moments of your first look, we will step away to give you some private moments alone. We will need to make sure to wrap up before guests begin to arrive.
CEREMONY AND RECEPTION DETAILS
During this time, we will capture your ceremony and reception details as-is before guests arrive. This is a great time to grab a snack, some water, and wind down before the big moment! We will also grab shots of guests arriving before the ceremony begins.
CEREMONY
Time to get MARRIED!!! We can't wait to capture these beautiful moments for you to remember forever. Tips to remember: Walk slowly down the aisle and look forward or at the camera - just try not to look down! (Let your wedding party know this too)! During the recessional/coming back down the aisle, we always recommend doing something fun or romantic like a dip and kiss, dancing, a twirl, or whatever you want to make it yours! It adds so much personality makes the photos so much fun!
FORMAL PORTRAITS
We will first go through the list you've given us and with any leftover time we will take requests. Please let family know to keep phones and cameras away during this time so that we can ensure everybody is looking at us for formal portraits and so that we don't spend extra time on phone photos that can be taken later!
We’ve arranged these to be as quick as possible and so that we can send people to the reception as soon as they are finished. It can be helpful if you designate a a friend or family member to help gather the appropriate parties and line them up for the portraits. Please make sure that all family in photos knows they are in these photos and what order.
RecepTION
Time to party!!! More importantly, time to eat! We always prefer to grab food with the bride/groom and wedding party to ensure we eat at the same time so we can get back to photographing at similar times as everybody else finishes eating! This is because we just don't want to miss any major moments! We will have a list of "events' happening at your reception (entrances, dances, toasts, etc.) and will be ready to party right beside you! HAVE FUN!
JUST MARRIED PORTRAITS
Sometime during the night (usually around sunset) we will come grab you to run away together to capture some photos of just the two of you! This is our favorite part and are typically the pictures you end up printing/sharing for your big day!
